Armed man robs Macon Dollar General

A man armed with a gun robbed the Dollar General, 2480 Shurling Drive, just before 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to Macon police.

An employee told police the gunman entered the store and acted as though he was shopping, according to a police report released Thursday. At some point, the man pulled out a semi-automatic pistol and demanded money.

As the employee tried to open the cash registers, the robber pulled the hammer back on the gun and told the employee to hurry, according to the report.
