Police say Bibb woman shot in neck in domestic dispute

Bibb County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a shooting Thursday at the Summit Ridge trailer park community, sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. George Meadows said.

Melody Lester, 34, was shot in the neck shortly after 4 p.m. following a domestic altercation at 140 Alpine Drive, Meadows said.

Larry Quintyne Sr., 51, Lester’s live-in boyfriend, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and family violence, according to authorities. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop in the 6700 block of Log Cabin Drive.

“He was en route to the hospital when he was stopped,” Meadows said. “He apparently had called 911 before, but left the house. The ambulance found his vehicle and met him at that location.”

Lester was transported to The Medical Center of Central Georgia. She was listed in stable condition late Thursday, according to authorities.

Quintyne remains in custody at the Bibb County jail.
