Three arrested in theft of copper, hot water heater

Three people were arrested Tuesday after police caught them stealing copper, a hot water heater and parts of an air conditioner unit from a Jeffersonville Road home.

Officers responded to the 1400 block of Jeffersonville Road after receiving a call about suspicious people in the area about 3 p.m., according to a Macon police news release.

Two men were standing near the back of 1408 Jeffersonville Road at the entrance to a crawl space that led underneath the house. A third person was found hiding under the house, according to the release.

Officers found the copper, hot water heater and parts from the air conditioner that had been removed from the house in the back of a truck parked on the property, according to the release.

Jaymes A. Hill, 18, Kendrick D. Murray, 19, and Donald G. Haynes, 22, were charged with burglary and criminal damage to property in the second degree, according to the release.
