Macon police arrest two in Goody's robbery

Macon Police have arrested two suspects in the Nov. 29 robbery of Goody’s Family Clothing on Presidential Parkway.

Jacquelyn Denise Raines, 47, and Raphael Dante Shelton, 31, both of Macon, have been charged with armed robbery, Lt. Robert Grabowski said Tuesday. Shelton additionally has been charged with two counts of kidnapping with bodily injury, he said.

Shelton, who is dating Raines, reportedly jumped out of a janitor’s closet at the department store late Saturday night and demanded money and the store’s surveillance tape. Two employees were detained, and one was injured, according to police.

Raines, a Goody’s employee, retrieved the money and the tape, Grabowski said. Several thousand dollars was taken, according to a police report.“A good bit of the money was recovered,” Grabowski said.

The Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force assisted in the investigation.
