Cochran police catch suspects with stolen register

Three college students face burglary charges in Cochran after police found them leaving a restaurant with a cash register.

Police Chief Jon Thrower said patrol officer April Dolan was checking the La Cabana restaurant about 1 a.m. Tuesday when she saw one of the men coming through a back window with the cash register.

The restaurant had been broken into three times in as many weeks. Middle Georgia College police assisted with the investigation and apprehension of three students, according to a news release.

Robert James Richardson, 20, of Mitchell; Anthony Justin Allen, 18, of Covington; and Michael Allen Edwards III, 20, of Marietta, all were charged with three counts of burglary.
