Bibb Sheriff’s Office issues car break-in warning for north Macon

Bibb County sheriff’s deputies are investigating what they believe is an ongoing ring of automobile break-ins along Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard, Northside Drive, Riverside Drive and other parts of north Bibb County, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Thefts have occurred at Longhorn Steakhouse, Cheddar’s Casual Cafe, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Regal Cinemas and The Wellness Center, according to the release.

Screwdrivers appear to be used to enter vehicles just below the door handle, according to the release.

Residents are advised to be especially alert for suspicious people in these areas while shopping or working and to not leave valuable items in plain sight inside vehicles.
