Macon woman hurt by shotgun blast

A 20-year-old woman was shot by a pellet from a shotgun blast Monday night after someone fired into her home in Village Green, according to the Macon police.

Angelica Hightower, of the 2700 block of Village Green Lane, told officers she was inside at about 6:50 p.m. when she heard her glass storm door break and felt something strike her in the upper right shoulder, according to a police news release.

Hightower was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia with nonlife threatening injuries, according to the release. Police say the shooter is described as a 16- to 18-year-old black male dressed in dark clothing who was last seen armed with a shotgun.
