Man robbed in doctor’s office parking lot

A Centerville man was robbed at gunpoint just before 6 p.m. Thursday in a Hardeman Avenue doctor’s office parking lot, according to the Macon police.

The man told officers he was sitting in a car in the parking lot, 1508 Hardeman Ave., waiting on his wife when two men approached the car, according to a police report released Friday.

One of the robbers asked for a cigarette and the man in his car refused, according to the report. The man then got out of his car and one of the robbers pulled a handgun from a backpack he was carrying.

The robber then demanded money, according to the report. The man tried to grab the gun, but failed. He then tried to run inside the doctor’s office, but tripped, according to the report.

The robber put the gun to the man’s head and again demanded money, according to the report.

At some point, the man’s wallet had fallen out of his pocket and the robbers took it and ran toward Middle Street, according to the report.
