Robbers hit Columbus Road convenience store

Bibb County sheriff’s deputies are investigating an armed robbery that happened late Thursday at the Country Corners convenience store, 6620 Columbus Road.

About 9:55 p.m., three black males dressed in dark clothing with covered faces approached the store’s owner while he was standing outside, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

One of the men held the business owner at gunpoint while the two others entered the store, one man holding a clerk at gunpoint and the other emptying cash registers, according to the release.

The victims told authorities at least one of the men wore a red bandana to hide his face.
