Couple shot at during robbery attempt

An armed and masked man attempted to rob a Macon man and his girlfriend at an ATM in the 3900 block of Pio Nono Avenue about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Macon police.

The man said he turned around after withdrawing cash and saw a man pointing a gun at him, according to a police report.

He said he ducked into the car and his girlfriend sped off.

The man told officers the gunman fired three shots toward the car, according to the report.

The gunman was last seen wearing a light blue hooded jacket and dark pants when he ran across Pio Nono Avenue to Rice Mill Road and St. Charles Street, according to the report.
