A day or so before her body was found, Candace Towns met someone at a west Macon hotel where she was living. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying the mystery person.

Images from surveillance video at the Rodeway Inn off Eisenhower Parkway show Towns getting inside a gold-colored, four-door sedan about 2:30 a.m.

Bibb County Sheriff David Davis said the car is either a Honda Accord or a Toyota Camry.

The 30-year-old transgender woman’s body was found late Halloween afternoon at the end of a driveway on Rosecrest Avenue, just south of downtown. She had been shot in the face and was lying face up between a burnt house and a blighted house.

A $2,000 reward is being offered by Macon Regional Crimestoppers for information leading to an arrest in that case or any of Middle Georgia’s other unsolved homicides.

Anyone with information about the car or the person depicted in the pictures is urged to call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500, or call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
