Three men forced their way into a Macon store early Tuesday, but they didn’t get what they came for and didn’t even get far away.
Bibb County sheriff’s deputies were called to the Family Dollar store at 2123 Pio Nono Ave. just after midnight, where they found the store’s front-door latch broken.
Surveillance video showed that three men had run up to the store, pulled the door open and tried to force open the locked cigarette shelf.
With the burglar alarm activated, they gave up and ran away.

One man had on a black hat with a gray bill, black hoodie, khaki pants and black shoes. Another was wearing a white T-shirt under a zipped black hoodie with khaki pants, a beanie cap and silver and black shoes. The third had on a black New York Yankees cap, a white T-shirt, black jacket and black pants.
When investigators arrived, they reviewed the video and crossed the street to ask patrons of the Wash Pot if they had seen anything.
While in the business, they recognized Antonzio Anthony, who was still wearing the same clothes.
They found Hubert Dumas hiding in the back of the Wash Pot, but the third man was not there.
Anthony, 39, and Dumas, 35, both were charged with burglary and criminal attempt to commit damage.
