Reunions are all the rage right now. Former members of the Warner Robins High School drama department staged a reunion of the Follies a few weeks ago, and Northside High School is about to host its first-ever 50th class reunion.
Meanwhile, plans are underway for the second Demons Through the Decades reunion, a celebration of all those involved with the Warner Robins High School football program since its inception in 1953.
Terry Price, president of the Warner Robins High School Touchdown Club, said that the Demons Through the Decades reunion is open to anyone who has supported the Demon football program, with an emphasis on former players, coaches and cheerleaders.
The first reunion was held in summer 2014, and Price said the idea started as a way to reconnect football team members. The event also is a fundraiser for the Touchdown Club.

“At your class reunion, you see the people you graduated with but a football player interacts with several different years on a team -- people older and younger -- so this is a chance to come back and see each other,” Price said.
The first Demons Through the Decades reunion was a huge success with more than 350 people in attendance. Guest speakers at the first reunion last summer included Robert Davis, who coached at Warner Robins High School from 1973-1996, and won three state championships and two national championships, and is a member of the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame; Ron Simmons, a member of the Warner Robins High School 1976 national champion team, an All-American at Florida State and a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame; and former Gov. Sonny Perdue, a quarterback at Warner Robins High School.
Tentative plans are for the next reunion to be held in July 2016. Right now, however, the Touchdown Club is trying to gather names and contacts.
“The one complaint we got from the first reunion is people that didn’t hear about it,” Price said. “Demon football covers 60 plus years, and with 50 to 100 young men on a team, that’s a lot of people.”
So the Touchdown Club is asking for your help. If you know of a Demon football player or cheerleader, please send his or hr name, home address, phone number and email address to email@example.com. That way, when all the details are worked out, the Touchdown Club will have contact information.
The Demons Through the Decades reunion will coincide with the 40th anniversary of the 1976 Warner Robins High football team’s national championship. Special emphasis will be given to that year’s team, but the reunion is for any and all Demons.
