The National Barrel Horse Association brings its Youth World Championships to Perry with competition beginning Sunday.
Riders will compete for money and prizes during the weeklong event, which features a divisional format that allows riders of all skill levels to participate.
Youth and teen riders from Houston and Peach counties as well as other parts of Middle Georgia will be participating in the competition from Sunday-July 25 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter.
The NBHA bills itself as the largest barrel racing organization in the world. It has 23,000 members in the United States and 12 countries, according to its website.
It’s the third time the championships have been held at the Perry fairgrounds.
