Warner Robins High School’s basketball team picked up a lot of awards last year as they finished as AAAAA state runner-up.
The team also picked up a booster club.
The Warner Robins High School Tip Off Club was formed this year to support both the boys and girls basketball programs at the school.
Last year was a record-breaking year for the Demons. The boys’ 27 wins last year is a school record for most wins in a season. The boys team won the region championship on its way to being the AAAAA state championship runner-up. The girls team has four total region championships -- 1996, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
“When we decided to form the club, we just wanted to get more community involvement and especially alumni support with our boys and girls basketball programs,” said Tangala Walker, who is serving as the Tip Off Club’s first president.
Walker said that along with providing financial support for the teams, the Tip Off Club wanted to establish a foundation to help student athletes succeed on and off the court.
“Our goals include promoting opportunities to build and strengthen relationships among all involved in the local community. The Tip Off Club also looks to attract events, camps and training to the area to help with expansion while building honorable athletes. These goals are not small, neither is the resolve of the Warner Robins High School Tip Off Club,” Walker said.
There are quite a few ways to help support the Warner Robins High School Tip Off Club during its inaugural season. The club has several levels of membership, starting with the Demon Level for $500, which includes four tickets to all regular season home games, two T-shirts, concession stand coupons, name listed in basketball program and two tickets to the end of the season basketball booster club banquet.
The Full Court Level Membership for $250 has two tickets to all regular season home games as well as the other items.
There are two membership levels for $100. The 3-Point Level membership has one ticket to all regular home games, T-shirt, name listed in program and banquet tickets, while the 3 Pt Coach “Chip” Malone Level membership does not have the T-shirts but instead includes a $25 donation to the “Chip” Malone Chip’n-Awayendattr val="chscale"/>
