A severe thunderstorm left about 3,500 homes without power in Peach, Taylor and Houston counties Saturday.
Jimmy Autry, spokesman for Flint Energies, said the outages started shortly after 5 p.m. Most of it was from fallen trees. By about 9 p.m. he said 2,500 homes were without power and he expected it would be Sunday before all were restored.
Peach County Sheriff Terry Deese said most of the damage was in the area of Ga. 96 toward Houston County. He was not aware of any damage to homes.
Some trees fell in the highway and other roads but he said at about 8:30 p.m. that most of the trees had been cleared.
