Warner Robins fire displaces apartment tenants

WARNER ROBINS -- A 2:10 a.m. fire Tuesday at Oakdale Villas at 1103 Corder Road destroyed a building containing eight apartments.

All of the tenants in Building F were evacuated before firefighters arrived on scene, with two of the units vacant, a Warner Robins fire news release stated. No one was injured.

The fire spread rapidly, but firefighters were able to contain it to the one building, the release stated.

Firefighters remained on scene until 9:45 a.m. extinguishing hot spots, and the Central Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross assisted tenants displaced by the fire, according to the release.

The fire remains under investigation.
