A suspect has been identified in Saturday’s shooting death in Houston County.
According to a release from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation of the shooting has identified Cheikh Howard Gwingue, who goes by the nickname “Chucky,” as a suspect in the case. Allegedly, he fired a round from a handgun that struck and killed Jarvis Keondre Rouse in the midst of an altercation.
A warrant charging Gwingue with Rouse’s murder has been issued, but investigators believe that he has left the Houston County area.
On Sunday, investigators arrested Brandon Ra’Shoud Howard on a charge of hindering apprehension or punishment of a criminal, and Howard is being held without bond at the Houston County Detention Center.
