Authorities on Monday were still seeking the man who shot a Peach County teen last week.
Deputies responded to 1874 Bible Camp Road, a Byron address, after a call from the victim’s mother Friday, Sheriff Terry Deese said.
The 15-year-old victim and his cousin, also 15, reported that they had been walking on Bible Camp Road about 3:50 p.m. when a small, gray Ford pickup truck pulled over. The driver got out and demanded money, and when the two teens refused, he shot one of the boys in the upper left shoulder, the victim told authorities.
“The deputies got there, the young 15-year-old was laying there on the porch with a gunshot wound to the upper left shoulder,” Deese said, describing a “clean exit” for the bullet through the teen’s shoulder.

The victim was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health, where he stayed overnight and was released Saturday afternoon.
While Deese said the department is still investigating the details of the case, both the victim and his cousin -- who was not hurt in the incident -- agreed to a description of the shooter. He was described as a white man with gray hair and some facial hair. He is reportedly between the ages of 25 and 35, between 5 feet 8 inches tall and 5 feet 11 inches tall and is of medium build.
