A local musician and former “American Idol” contestant will be the grand marshal for the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas Parade.
Jared “Jarod” Cotton, a 2012 Houston County High School graduate, will be featured on the first float of the parade, which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Dec. 6 at the intersection of Houston Road and Watson Boulevard.
Cotton appeared on Season 13 of “American Idol” during the Atlanta auditions. Although a majority of Twitter voters wanted him to go to Hollywood, the judges sent him home.
The theme for this year’s parade is “A Star-Spangled Christmas,” with floats geared toward the spirit of Christmas from a patriotic perspective.
