Ken DeLoach, of Warner Robins, on Tuesday announced he is running for the 2nd Congressional District seat as a Republican.
DeLoach doesn’t live in the district, which under redistricting plans will include Peach County and portions of Bibb County. A minister and dean of students at Central Fellowship Christian Academy in Bibb County, DeLoach ran two years ago in the 8th Congressional District primary, losing to Austin Scott with 31.2 percent of the vote.
DeLoach said in a statement that he wants more jobs and less government.
The seat is now held by U.S. Rep. Sanford Bishop, a Democrat. Other Republican declared candidates include Rick Allen and John House, both of Columbus.
