A Warner Robins man was shot New Year’s Eve when he surprised a burglar in his home, police said.
Tabitha Pugh, public information officer for Warner Robins police, said 36-year-old Naaman Dyer was treated at Houston Medical Center for a non-life-threatening injury when he was shot in the right arm.
Police responded at 10:22 p.m. Friday after a 911 call from Dyer to the 100 block of Margaret Terrace, Pugh said. Dyer told police that when he came home, he discovered that the front door of his residence was open, Pugh said. As Dyer went into his home, a man was coming out of the bedroom, she said.
Dyer and the man struggled briefly, and Dyer was shot in the arm with a pistol, Pugh said. The burglar fled on foot, she said.
