Peach County Commissioner Melvin Walker was chosen by fellow commissioners at a meeting Tuesday to serve as the organization’s chairman for the upcoming year.
“I appreciate the confidence expressed by fellow commissioners,” Walker said Wednesday.
Commissioner Martin Moseley, who is finishing a two-year stint as chairman, will be vice chairman in 2011.
Tuesday’s meeting also was the first regularly scheduled meeting for the commission in its new offices at 213 Persons St. in Fort Valley, formerly a library.
