A log truck overturned in Perry on Tuesday, spilling its load and shutting down westbound traffic shortly before 12:30 p.m. on the Perry Parkway at its intersection with U.S. 41, the Georgia State Patrol said.
Quentin Brown, 39, of Marshallville, was traveling north on U.S. 41 and attempting to turn west onto the parkway when the load shifted, causing the log truck to overturn, said GSP Cpl. Elbert Slappy.
Brown, who was not injured, is facing citations of traveling too fast for conditions, not wearing a seat belt and having an expired tag, Slappy said.
The single-vehicle crash closed the westbound lanes in the immediate vicinity of the wreck for about three hours.
