Resurfacing on South Houston Lake Road from Russell Parkway to Watson Boulevard is expected to begin today.
Tommy Stalnaker, director of operations for Houston County, said the $700,000 project will take from two to three weeks, weather permitting.
Work is expected to start 8:30 a.m. daily and end before 5 p.m., Stalnaker said.
Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes and are advised to expect delays and frequent stops when traveling through the work area, he said.
The work is expected to start today just north of the Russell Parkway and South Houston Lake Road intersection.
Stalnaker asked that motorists be patient, exercise caution and be mindful of workers when driving through the work zone.
“We want to preach safety,” Stalnaker said. “We don’t want anyone hurt, injured or killed.”
