Program honors Fort Valley gospel singer

The Peach County Board of Commissioners has declared today as Ester Mae Ross Day.

Ross, a member of Welcome Home Community Ministries in Fort Valley, has been traveling to area churches during the past 20 years singing gospel songs to various congregations.

Commissioners issued the proclamation to Ross at their Feb. 9 meeting. A gospel program is being held to honor Ross at 7 tonight at Anna B. Lumpkin Auditorium, 200 Spruce St., Fort Valley.

Ross will be performing at the three-hour concert along with The Lighthouse Singers, The Cork Singers and Brother Ben.

Tickets are $14.50 at the door.
