State Patrol: Motorist at fault in wreck with Houston deputy

WARNER ROBINS — A Knoxville man was at fault in an accident Monday night involving a Houston County sheriff’s deputy, the Georgia State Patrol said.

Levi McSwain, 20, was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle in the 10:50 p.m. wreck at Houston Lake Road and Watson Boulevard, said GSP Sgt. Leamon Hughes.

Houston County sheriff’s deputy Greg Pennycuff, who was responding to a 911 call, had his lights and siren activated and stopped the patrol car before pulling into the intersection, Hughes said.

McSwain, who was westbound on Watson Boulevard, told authorities that he did not see the northbound patrol car, Hughes said. The deputy suffered minor injures, while McSwain was not injured, Hughes said.
