Chuck Chalk officially announces WR mayoral bid

WARNER ROBINS — Chuck Chalk says having a more citizen-focused government will be among the priorities in his campaign to become Warner Robins’ mayor.

The 42-year-old held a news conference on the south lawn of the Homer J. Walker Municipal Complex on Tuesday morning officially announcing his intentions to run for mayor.

Councilman Clifford Holmes Jr., pharmaceutical sales representative Chuck Shaheen and sitting Mayor Donald Walker also have said they intend to file papers during the declaration of candidacy period, which begins Aug. 31.

Chalk, a 20-year Air Force veteran who still works on Robins Air Force Base, reiterated that voters having options was part of the reason he’s decided to run for mayor this year rather than waiting four more years.
