ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE — Robins Air Force Base will get a new executive director after July 4.
Deryl Israel, director of the Engineering and Acquistion Excellence Directorate at the Air Armament Center in at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, has been tapped to replace Brenda Romine, who is retiring from the position she has served in since 2008, according to a Robins Air Force Base news release.
According to a U.S. Air Force biography, Israel is familiar with the base as he has spent several stints there over the course of his career. He began his federal career at the base in 1976 as a project engineer after graduating from Georgia Tech with an electrical engineering degree. He worked his way up at Robins through July 1988 when he left for work at the U.S. Air Force Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
In 1990, he returned to the base for three years before heading back to the nation’s capital. He returned in 1994, but left again in 2003 to work at Ogden Air Logistics Center in Utah then Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.
Israel is expected to arrive at the base by the end of June.
