WARNER ROBINS — Warner Robins police, with the help of Peach County deputies, are expected to close a section of Russell Parkway for about two-and-a-half hours Saturday for the dedication of a new road.
The outside right, westbound lane of Russell Parkway is expected to be closed from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Sullivan Road to just east of its intersection with the northbound ramp of Interstate 75, according to a Warner Robins police news release,
The dedication ceremony for the newly constructed Vietnam Veterans Memorial Parkway is scheduled to start at 1 p.m., the release said. The new road serves as a frontage road along I-75.
Parking will be provided but restricted to the paved area of the new road itself, the release said.
Parking attendants, shuttle buses and ceremony programs will be provided on site, release said.
The dedication will be held at the intersection of Russell Parkway and Vietnam Veterans Memorial Parkway, with those attending the dedication asked to enter only from this intersection, the release said.
The intersection of the new road and Watson Boulevard/Ga. 247 Connector will be closed, the release said.
