WR woman arrested after car chase with state trooper

WARNER ROBINS — A Warner Robins woman led a Georgia State Patrol trooper on a brief chase in Warner Robins on Monday morning before crashing her vehicle.

Sheamiko Chayer, 31, was charged with fleeing, running a red light, speeding, no insurance and other traffic offenses, said Laswanda Davis, a GSP communications analyst.

GSP trooper Derrek Lumsden attempted to pull over Chayer in a Ford Explorer for a seat-belt violation at 9:24 a.m. at Story Road and Elberta Road. But Chayer sped off and a chase ensued, ending when Chayer crashed her car at Johnson and North Houston roads, Davis said.

The three-minute chase reached speeds of 80 mph. There were no injuries, Davis said.Chayer was being held Monday in the Houston County jail.
