Arrest made in theft from Perry lumber business

WARNER ROBINS — Authorities have made an arrest in the theft of lumber last month from the Tolleson Lumber Co. in Perry, police said.

Gregory Durham, 48, of Talbot County, was charged with theft by receiving stolen property by the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office, said Perry police Capt. Heath Dykes.

Perry police, Talbot County deputies and agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Columbus office recently recovered 1,100 pieces of the stolen lumber in Junction City where Durham once lived, Dykes said. A tractor-trailer loaded with lumber was stolen from Tolleson Lumber Co. in the early morning hours of Jan. 22, Dykes said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Perry police at 988-2824.
