Road closures planned in Warner Robins Saturday for 5K race

WARNER ROBINS — More than 1,100 people are expected to join in the Cantrell Center’s 5K road race Saturday, with several roads to be closed to accommodate the “Get Moving Middle Georgia” fitness initiative, police said.

The race is expected to start at 8:30 a.m., according to a Warner Robins police news release. Roads are expected to be closed from 8 a.m. until noon.

Here are the closures: Willie Lee Parkway — from McDonald’s to Osigian Boulevard; Osigian Boulevard — from Georgetown Drive to Margie Drive; Margie Drive — from Osigian Boulevard to Smithville Church Road; and Smithville Church Road — from Osigian Boulevard to Leverette Road.

Also closed: Leverette Road — from Smithville Church Road to Prestige Drive; Prestige Drive — from Leverette Road to Woodfern Drive; Woodfern Drive — the entire road; Pheasant Ridge Road — from Woodfern Drive to Covey Rise; Covey Rise — from Pheasant Ridge Drive to Smithville Church Road; Smithville Church Road — from Covey Rise to Georgetown Drive; and Georgetown Drive — the entire road.
