The Peach County Hospital Authority is ready to submit an application for financing of a new $25 million facility to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, hospital administrator Nancy Peed said Friday. The new hospital will be constructed at the Ga. 247 Connector near Byron.
Peed said the approval process should take 30 to 60 days. Construction is expected to begin in March. And while the hospital recorded another financial loss for fiscal year 2008 which ended in October, this year’s loss was lower in fiscal year 2007.
Financial documents show the hospital was in the red $474,565 for fiscal year 2008. In 2007, the hospital’s loss was $626,195. The hospital’s financial director Lisa Urbistondo said she didn’t expect the figure to change much once an audit was completed.
