PERRY — An unmarked Houston County sheriff’s vehicle driven by a sheriff’s investigator on his way to training Saturday morning was struck by a bread truck, authorities said.
Sgt. Angel Nunez was transported by ambulance to Perry Hospital and was treated and released, Lt. John Holland said Monday. John Dick, 21, of Warner Robins, was cited for running a red light at the intersection of Ball and Commerce streets in Perry, said Georgia State Patrol Sgt. 1st Class Keith Collins.
The bread truck was owned by Flowers Foods Inc. of Savannah, the trooper said.
The front end of the sheriff’s vehicle was extensively damaged, Holland said.
