The 52nd and 53rd Combat Communications Squadrons of the 5th Combat Communications Group at Robins Air Force Base gathered Monday at Johnny G's Fun Center in Warner Robins to celebrate the units' 20th birthday.
The squadrons, originally activated Sept. 8, 1988, have units constantly deployed around the globe providing communications and air traffic control.
A contingent has recently returned from Iraq and another unit has taken their place. Members also deploy frequently on humanitarian missions. A group has just returned from helping the Gulf Coast cope with the effects of Hurricane Gustav and another is preparing for Hurricane Ike as it barrels toward America's southern coasts.
The birthday celebration was an opportunity for members of the squadrons to spend time together and with their families, enjoying miniature golf, arcade games and a catered barbecue lunch.
