A 35-year-old man has been indicted by a Houston County grand jury on 20 counts of sexual exploitation of children.

Corey Alan Richmond is accused of having multiple photographs on his computer of children in sex acts or other sexually explicit conduct, according to the indictment.

Richmond was living with a relative on Nov. 24, 2015, when the images were found on a laptop in the Houston County home, according to a sheriff’s incident report.

The search was done after Richmond had asked for help a few days earlier when he’d brought a hard drive to man in Bibb County in order to copy some cartoon video files for him, the report said.

The man found sexual images of children on the hard drive and notified the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, which in turn reached out to Houston County sheriff’s investigators.

In other indictments Tuesday, John Daniel Duffin, 30, and Miranda Mae Duffin, 26, were each indicted on charges of cruelty to children in the second degree and reckless conduct

The Kathleen couple is accused of forcing their 7-year-old daughter to run and walk in front of their moving pickup truck on Morton Road on April 20, according to the indictment and a sheriff’s incident report.

John Daniel Duffin also is accused of threatening to run over the girl if she stopped running, according to the indictment.

A passerby, a parent who had just picked up her children at Langston Elementary School, reported the incident to authorities, according to the sheriff’s report.
