Residents of the Summerfield Apartments were forced from their homes Saturday evening as a fire started in the attic just after 6 p.m.
Warner Robins Fire Lt. Lee Brantley said two of the eight units in the one-story building sustained heavy fire damage as flames tore through the roof of the complex off at 310 Northlake Drive.
Another unit was also damaged by smoke and water.
“Nobody was hurt,” Fire Chief Ross Moulton said.
Moulton praised firefighters’ efforts to save most of the units, although the power was cut from the building as a result of the fire, Brantley said.
The American Red Cross was called to assist those displaced by the fire.
