A man was charged with aggravated assault Saturday after he allegedly pointed a gun at paramedics.
About 6 p.m., paramedics responded to a call at a home on Jana Court regarding a drunk man, according to a Warner Robins Police Department release.
When they arrived, Robert G. Pope, 41, pointed a gun at the paramedics, the release stated. They left the scene and notified officers.
When officers arrived they heard a gunshot inside the house. After numerous attempts to make contact with Pope were unsuccessful, the SWAT team was called.
The team surrounded the home and sent in a robot that located Pope. He was then taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault.
No one else was in the home and no one was injured, the release stated.
