Macon man stabbed in leg by girlfriend

A 29-year-old Macon man was shopping inside a south Macon convenience store Monday afternoon when his girlfriend reportedly stabbed him in the leg with a kitchen knife, Bibb County sheriff’s officials said.

Jerome Smith was inside the C Mini Mart in the 3300 block of Houston Avenue about 4:15 p.m. when his girlfriend, whose name has not yet been released, entered the store yelling at him before stabbing him in the leg with a knife, Bibb County sheriff’s Lt. Randy Gonzalez said. Smith’s girlfriend, of Warner Robins, left the store, and Smith was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health with a non-life-threatening stab wound.
