One teenager is dead after a fatal accident in Putnam County on Friday.

About 10:45 p.m., Putnam County sheriff’s deputies responded to a crash on Little River Trail, where a 1998 Jeep Wrangler driven by 17-year-old Donovan Cole Turner of Eatonton appeared to have left the road, returned and left the road again.

“The vehicle overturned at least once, probably more times than once,” said Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills.

Turner and two 15-year-old passengers -- Ryan Davis Loggins and Thomas Roberts, both also of Eatonton -- were ejected from the vehicle. Evidence suggested they were not wearing seat belts, Sills said.

Roberts was pronounced dead on the scene, while Loggins was taken to Putnam General Hospital.

Turner was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health.
