A heat advisory is posted for much of Middle Georgia as temperatures will feel close to 105 degrees Tuesday afternoon.
Highs are expected to reach the mid-90s with high humidity levels that put additional stress on the body.
The advisory is posted from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and includes Macon, Warner Robins, Milledgeville, Dublin, Cordele and Vidalia.
Everyone is urged to drink plenty of fluids, stay out of direct sunshine and in the air conditioning, if possible.
Make sure pets have water and shade.
Extreme heat can be deadly for the elderly, small children and those with heart conditions.
