Four honored as 2015 Girl Scout Women of Distinction

Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia honored four women Thursday during its annual Women of Distinction luncheon.

Jan Beeland, Beverly Blake, Ruth A. Knox and Pearlie Toliver are the 2015 honorees.

Beeland is a retired marketing professional who’s now executive director of Macon Arts Alliance. Blake is the Macon program director for the Knight Foundation. Knox is president of Wesleyan College. Toliver is a retired banker.

The Girl Scouts Women of Distinction Award honors women whose lives reflect the values in the Girl Scout Promise and Law and who serve as excellent role models for girls. All four have had a significant impact on the Macon community, according to a release from the Girl Scouts.
