Macon woman shoots friend with gun from her purse

A Macon woman accidentally shot a male friend in the knee Friday night, sending him to the hospital.

Jordan Lynch, 30, told Bibb County sheriff’s officials she was at a home in the 1100 block of Hendley Street about 8:30 p.m. when a gun accidentally fired. She said she was cleaning out her purse before going out with Matthew Wesley Robert Harvey, 26, for the evening, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

“Lynch went to remove her handgun from the purse and accidentally shot Harvey in the right knee,” the release said.

Lynch drove Harvey to a convenience store at 4933 Sardis Church Road to meet an ambulance. Harvey was taken to a local hospital and was in stable condition late Friday night.
