Input sought on I-75 lighting in Macon

The Georgia Department of Transportation wants public input on a proposal to improve lighting along Interstate 75 in Macon.

The plan calls for high-mast lights and underground lines along both shoulders from just south of Pierce Avenue to just south of Arkwright Road.

No formal program is scheduled, but folks are encouraged to drop in during Tuesday’s public meeting 4-6 p.m. at the Middle Georgia Regional Commission office at 175 Emery Highway.

Plans also will be available for viewing for 10 days following the meeting at the GDOT office at 4499 Riverside Drive and online after the meeting at www.dot.ga.gov.

Public comments can be mailed to Hiral Patel, State Environmental Administrator -- Georgia DOT, 600 West Peachtree Street NW, 16th Floor, Atlanta, GA 30308.

Comments must be received by May 1 to be considered for the final project design.
