A Macon-Bibb County firefighter injured in an accident on his way to work was transferred Monday to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta.
Ronald Kyle Livingston initially was in critical condition at Medical Center Navicent Health after the March 9 accident on Eisenhower Parkway.
At about 7 a.m. that day, Livingston was headed east when he left the road just past the Log Cabin Drive intersection, returned to the highway and flipped his 1985 Toyota pickup.
He was hit by a 1995 Nissan Sentra that could not avoid the pickup.
Macon-Bibb County Fire Chief Marvin Riggins, who visited Livingston before he left Monday, said the firefighter would be undergoing rehabilitation in what is expected to be a long recovery period.
