Freezing weather is expected to return to Middle Georgia on Sunday morning, threatening optimistic gardeners’ tomato plants.
The National Weather Service said in a freeze warning that temperatures could be below freezing between midnight and 8 a.m. Sunday, enough to damage tender vegetation. The freeze warning was issued for most of Middle Georgia and even most of the state.
Macon’s forecast calls for a low of 32 degrees Saturday night, a high of 60 Sunday, and a low of 45 degrees Sunday night. Lows in the following days are forecast around 50 degrees, while highs are forecast in the low 70s. There’s a chance of rain every day early next week, the National Weather Service said.
