A Baldwin County toddler drowned in Lake Sinclair on Wednesday.
The 22-month-old boy was found in the lake behind a home across the street from where his family lives.
“It looked like he wandered off from home,” said Baldwin County Coroner John Gonzales.
Authorities declined to release the victim’s name.
Baldwin County Sheriff Bill Massee said two deputies responded to the incident.
“They tried their best to do CPR and resuscitate the child, but it was unsuccessful,” Massee said.
The child was pronounced dead at 11:35 a.m. at Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
