Christmas trees are on their yearly journey from decorations to mulch.
For Macon residents, the Bring One for the Chipper campaign will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The event, sponsored by Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful, will take place at Central City Park rain or shine.
In Warner Robins, residents are asked to bring their live trees -- without ornaments or lights -- to Maple Street on Jan. 10 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the Great Christmas Tree Round-up. Many of the trees will be chipped into mulch for city parks, while some will be dropped in area lakes and streams for fish habitats.
Anyone dropping off trees on Jan. 10 will receive a free tree seedling for each tree brought, but trees can be dropped off any time.
