Pedestrian killed on Macon’s Montpelier Avenue

A 63-year-old Macon man was killed by a car late Thursday night.

Bobby Lewis Wright was standing on Montpelier Avenue at Holt Avenue at about 10 p.m. when he was hit by a 2002 BMW 325ci driven by a 26-year-old Macon man, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The car was headed west, away from Mercer University, when the accident happened.

No charges were filed after the preliminary investigation, which closed Montpelier for about two hours between Duncan and Virginia avenues.

Deputies would like to talk to anyone who has information about the accident.
